Mayor Bowman and I participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Hazelwood Park to celebrate the upgrades in the playground equipment and the park. The total project cost was $129,000, funded from the 2019 Parks and Recreation Enhancement Program and 2020 Golf Lands Repurposing Review and Recreation Amenities.

This park is a cherished community space and I am very pleased to see improvements made that will benefit the neighbourhood and Dr. D.W. Penner School. My own mom taught kindergarten at Penner during the 1980s, and I am very proud to support this school and its students all these years later.

I attended the dedication of the new Norberry-Glenlee Community Centre's fully accessible play structure. It was built with Federal, Provincial, City and community funding.

Ribbon-cutting was with Norberry-Glenlee's President Sean Federowich, Jamie Moses, MLA for St. Vital, the Hon. Dan Vandal, Minister of Minister of Northern Affairs and Member of Parliament for St. Boniface - St. Vital and the Hon. Rochelle Squires, Minister of  Municipal Relations and MLA for Riel.

Sadly, City money was not reserved for “zany maze” signage.

The last time I ran a full (26.2 mile) marathon was in 2003, before either of my sons were born.

I decided to show the boys I could still run a marathon. I finished the virtual Manitoba Marathon

on Sunday, in 3 hour and 52 mins. Slowest of my marathons, but the best Thanksgiving!

Thanks to students from Minnetonka School, Louis Riel School Division Trustee Chris Sigurdson and Principal Dubeau, for celebrating the new City funded basketball hoops and standards.

Much better vertical for Principal Dubeau, than for Sig and I.

Chris and I testing out the new hoops

Basketball project #6 with great partners, the Louis Riel School Division!

Covid-19 has been devastating for small businesses.  As a result, Old St. Vital Business Improvement Zone will provide all of its members with an equal share of a $100,000.00 recovery grant.

I was pleased to attend the presentation of these grants to two local businesses, Top Hat Florist, the oldest community partner and Juneberry, a new business that opened during the pandemic.

Pleased to attend the virtual announcement by the

Winnipeg Art Gallery

regarding the Inuit Art Centre's new Inuktitut name "Qaumajug", which means "It is bright, it is lit".

I've been proud to serve as Council Representative on the board of the WAG, in recent years, as the project approaches its February 2021 opening.

Congrats to Stephen Borys

and team!
