Winnipeggers invited to provide feedback on draft lot-split guidelines: October 1, 2020

Gravel Lane or Mud Lane? Can you spot the difference?

The draft lot-splitting guidelines call for lot-splits only on "improved" lanes. One of three definitions provided by the public service on the meaning of "improved lanes" would allow for four times the densification on gravel lanes but none on "mud lanes".

Attached are two photos taken behind Kingston Row; one is a “mud lane” (no lot-splits to be allowed), while the other one across the street is an “improved lane”, supposedly suitable for four times the densification.

To me, all our gravel lanes look like mud lanes. I do not support lot-splits for properties with gravel or mud lanes.
