Seven and one-half hour EPC meeting yesterday with much accomplished. Firstly, adoption of anti-poverty strategy, led by Cindy Gilroy and Sherri-Lynn Rollins. I was proud to support!
After adoption of anti-poverty strategy, EPC also backed the Homes for Heroes project to house Canadian war vets. Kudos to Kevin E. Klein and Shawn Nason - Transcona City Councillor for pushing this and Cindy Gilroy for brokering a solution to earlier impasse. I was also proud to support this effort.
EPC also backed my motion, seconded by Mayor Brian Bowman to explore feasibility of a bid for 2031 Pan Am Games, a timely motion with Pan Am Junior Games opening Nov. 25 in Cali, Columbia.
