Was sorry to hear of the passing of former St. Vital City Councillor, Doreen Demare. Mrs. Demare (I always called her that) was an accomplished Councillor who switched wards in 1986 & was STILL acclaimed. She had the respect of Premier Selinger who spoke at the park dedication in 2013.
In addition to her political skills, former Coun. Doreen Demare was mother to my great Brandon School Board colleague, Ramona Coey. She had 4 grandkids whom we trusted as babysitters for our kids. The last time we met, she was square dancing at age 80. A life well lived! RIP.
