I will be supporting the Mayor’s motion to rename Bishop Grandin Boulevard.
While I like “Elijah Harper Blvd” due to his connection with Dakota Collegiate, this process needs to involve broad consultations. Our archives staff pointed out that Grandin was originally second choice in 1978 for a road name, as André Nault (Métis colleague of Louis Riel) was first. I would like to honor Nault in some fashion, if it has not been not done before.
