Temporary Extended Winter Route Parking Ban Called

Due to heavy recent snowfall, a temporary extended winter route parking ban is now in place.

The ban prohibits parking on designated winter routes daily from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. It will be in place until 7 a.m. on Sunday, January 14.

We encourage everyone to check streets for both “Winter Route” and “Snow Route” signs before parking overnight.

People can find out if the ban applies to any address or location by:

·         Using the online address lookup tool

·         Downloading the Know Your Zone app

·         Contacting 311

PLEASE NOTE: Vehicles parked in violation of the ban may receive a $100 ticket ($75 if paid early). They may also be towed to the towing company’s compound.

The winter route parking ban will start as scheduled on January 16 at 2 a.m.

Winnipeg Transit is currently experiencing delays on some routes. Residents are reminded to check schedules before heading out.
